Texas Trill

Wednesday, March 04, 2015

Though I'm definitely a California girl through and through, there's no denying my Texan roots. I was born in Austin and spent a good amount of my elementary years in the dirty South, and I still have a lot of fond memories tied to the place. I even considered going to my oldest sister's alma mater UT Austin for college, but instead decided to stay loCal. With all this in mind it was only fitting to do a little Longhorn's rootin' look for y'all!

I absolutely love this mesh jersey from Victoria's Secret PINK! It's reversible and the opposite side is the rust orange color with 'Texas' in white writing. I love sporting this for a casual look or dressing it up with a skirt for a more refined street-style approach.

For this look I wore a little lace periwinkle bralette from a shop off Melrose under my jersey paired with my favorite Topshop Jamie Moto Jeans. I love Topshop because they have the ripped jeans down perfectly, the quality is great and I love that they've been trying to widen the petites section as well! These jeans are so comfy with a snug fit and ankle cut, and I got them from the Topshop in The Grove so I have a nice little LA memory tied to them as well.

It's no secret that I love leopard and that my leopard Vans are my go-to comfy everyday shoes. I will literally put together outfits based off my shoes at times because I just love 'em that damn much. In this case however they luckily fit the look anyway since I had my distressed UNIF Leopard Leaf Sweater tied around my waist.  It also helped maintain the casual slightly sporty look that I had going on.

I would wear this as an everyday look since it's casual, cute and comfy all at once. I believe I've even worn a similar version of this look on one of my many drives from SF to Los Angeles (I've basically done almost-monthly trips down since I left my heart there)... which ties in perfectly since I'm actually planning this month's trip this weekend!

Fun lil fact: I have most of A$AP Rocky's songs memorized to the dot. He's def one of my faves, and it only helps that he's been influenced with some Texan swagger.

As always, thanks for clicking back on to the blog. I had such an amazing shoot this past Friday and hopefully I can share some of those shots with y'all soon as well, so be sure check back on the blog and follow me on Instagram for sneak peeks!
