Flossin' Like Kate Moss

Wednesday, February 25, 2015

If this look feels familiar, it probably is. We've seen the leather and leopard combo done a thousand times thanks to our girl Katy... So naturally, being a big fan of both as well as of our lady Kate, I couldn't help sharing a Moss-inspired 'fit of my own!

My boxy leopard coat/blazer is supremely oversized on my petite body, so I normally choose to either layer it up like crazy or wear a solid color underneath throughout. In this case I chose to showcase the leather jacket and rock a plain black sweater underneath, pulled together with my leather paneled pants.

Lastly, I paired this outfit with my Chloe-lookalikes. Oh man, the trouble I went through to find these shoes! I'm pretty sure I already touched on that story when I first posted a fit with these babies, but the trouble was worth it. I absolutely love these shoes and they really help make any casual (or lowkey lazy) outfit look effortlessly more put-together just by throwing these on. And finally, if you haven't caught on already, I definitely like to keep my hat game in check. That pretty much explains the big burgundy fedora... to keep the pop of color going, I added in an old necklace and my favorite soft matte NYX lippy.

The last few elements are definitely signature 'me' and what put my own little twist to the fit. Another way I'd wear this look would be with a simple white muscle tank and no accessories for a cleaner feel. I normally don't really wear much jewelry in my day-to-day, though I do have a couple of rings and my Marc watch that are almost extra limbs at this point.

It really never hurts to experiment with mixing patterns and textures, and add a little flavor of your own. Thanks for checking back in. I've got a lot of exciting new things coming for the blog so I hope you'll stick around for it! xx
