One thing 2017 taught me is that a year contains endless opportunities for your life to constantly reinvent itself. So much can change in even just one hour of a single day that 365 days tend to feel just as fast or as slow as the events surrounding them.

Each year I feel as though I've walked through fire. I think to myself, there's no way in hell life can get any worse or harder to handle than this. And each year, I'm proven wrong, as I deal with more trials and tribulations than the years prior. 2017 was no exception. It was the year I felt I found myself the most, the year I was most actively mindful and present as I could be. The year I was properly diagnosed with Bipolar 2, the year that I had a loving relationship (and also the most painful heartbreak), the year that I formed new and worthwhile friendships and most importantly, the year that I invested in myself the most: creatively and otherwise. A year in which I've felt that I've owned my stripes, once and for all. I am a work in progress, but I am also a masterpiece of my own making.


For this third installment of my collaboration with Kerstyn Inouye, a creatively-fueling friend for whom I am eternally grateful for, we decided to focus on this cozy striped knit sweater from Nasty Gal.


I opted to style the sweater with a suede burgundy skirt with an o-ring belt detail and a black beret with grommet-detailing (unfortunately you can't see the grommet details in these photos, but they're there!). To tie it all together, I topped it off with my comfy grey mules from Qupid Shoes (a favorite!) and some red & black ZeroUV sunnies.


Kerstyn chose to go for a classic Dipped in Black look with culottes and a black o-ring belt (looks like we both had that in common for this fit as well!), her clear lens specs and some chunky peep-toe heels. For more details on her outfit, be sure to check out her blog post HERE!
