Dipped in Red | ft. Kerstyn Inouye of @_dippedinblack

Damn, I'm rusty. I haven't written a blog post in ages! However, I'm hoping y'all have still been keeping up-to-date with my updates via other platforms.

Regardless, if you've been following me from the start, you know my blog initially came to be because I realized that my friends and I often owned a lot of the same pieces. But because of our unique personal sense of fashion, we all made the piece/s look extremely different due to the way we styled them. Though it's been too tough to be able to shoot friends wearing the same piece with their style shining through, my friend Kerstyn and I decided to recreate this concept recently... starting with this dope ass Poppy Red corduroy jacket, c/o The Cords Co.

I am honestly in love with playing matchmaker to pieces that were not initially born to be worn together. Because of this, I decided to create a co-ord by pairing the jacket with a similarly toned, bright red corduroy skirt. And of course, my Rebel 8 Dipped in Black tee was not only the perfect way to begin this first 3-part collaboration series (of hopefully many more to come), but an essential part of bringing the outfit together.

I added a beret from DimePiece LA: red, rose-embroidered and hand-stitched with the phrase, "Feminist AF", for a lil sass and a lot more red. If you haven't noticed, I've been loving all things red this season!

And of course, the cherry on top were these gorgeous zip-up patent booties from Forever 21 and red sunnies c/o ZeroUV, both of which helped transform the outfit entirely for the better.

Kerstyn, on the other hand, chose to remain dipped in black with pops of red, as you can see above. Please go on over to Kerstyn's blog HERE to see more on how she chose to style this jacket!

'til next time...
