Mercury was in Retrograde

Marilyn Monroe had the right idea when it comes to diamonds—the right bling really is a girl's best friend. But what she didn't account for is how hard it can sometimes be to find the perfect jewels to fit your style and vibe. That's where Rocksbox comes in. With a quick personal style survey and the ability to #wishlist items that catch your eye, they curate sets that specifically suit your taste! I was already in love with the concept of Rocksbox, which can easily be referred to as the "Netflix for jewelry," but my feelings were set in stone once I finally received my first set.

I loved how versatile my set was and it inspired me to share this easy day-to-night look. The colors of the jewels were the first thing I noticed, and I quickly decided to pair the jewelry with deep gray and pastel coral tones.

I fell in love with the Happily Ever After Day Dress at first sight, along with many of our Tobi community bloggers and many a shopper as well. The first batch sold out pretty quickly and I definitely played a hand in this by purchasing it in three of the four available colors (in my defense I only ended up keeping this beautiful coral and the go-to black). Even in its high demand, I thought it was a gorgeous piece to share on the blog but since we'd received so many posts on the dress already I decided to utilize it to showcase my set from my friends at Rocksbox and style it in a different way accordingly.

My first Rocksbox set consisted of the gorgeous Layla Necklace by Perry Street, Pave Ball Stud Earrings by Sophie Harper and a beautiful Teardrop Bangle in Labradorite by Margaret Elizabeth. I'd say it was a 11/10 for a first set, I even loved the necklace so much that I ended up purchasing it for my own with my Shine Spend of the month!

Keep in mind that this is in fact a quick switch from day-to-night, which is why the slouchy Talula shirt from Aritzia was ideal for this. Not only was the comfort and color of the top perfect to match the jewelry and offset the slightly fancier coral day dress, but it also served a more meaningful purpose with its design and text, "Mercury was in Retrograde." This is the time when the zodiac goes in reverse and all plans go awry. Whether plans are perfectly set or somewhat uncertain, it never hurts to have an easily transformative fit at your disposal, especially if you're like me and always on the go with things to get done.

I loved the color combination of the dark heathered grey and pop of coral. Plus the soft material of the tee made it a casual enough contrast to the rest of the fit, and I liked how snug it fit into the cut-outs of the dress to form a cute top-skirt combo, all while remaining slouchy enough for some peekaboo action up top with the coral straps. My grey/black two-toned hat maintained the daytime vibe and matched both the tee and shoes, and had a wee bit of 'braid peeking out underneath. I went with my Bella Mae Booties because they're comfortable and versatile enough to seamlessly transition from day to night.

I loved how the color scheme of my Rocksbox set looked with the cool grey and bright, pastel coral. I ditched the tee and hat to show off my bangin' braid and the eye-catching cut-outs on the dress, which happily coupled up with the jewelry to create a look that was both easily transformative and PM-appropriate.

I love how personal the stylists at Rocksbox are and how they really take your style and preferences into account to carefully curate your set from great brands like Perry Street, House of Harlow, and more. And it only helps that you can send any or all of the pieces back at any time for entirely new ones. Plus if you use my discount code, lapetiteconteurxoxo, you try out a month for free to see how you feel! I definitely wish I had discovered Rocksbox sooner, so don't sleep on it.

Also bit of a cheesy moment, but I've been getting a lot of great feedback and support lately and I just wanted to say that I appreciate it/you all so very much! It definitely encourages me to keep confidence in what I've been putting nothing but pure passion into. As always, thanks for catching this week's post and be sure to click back onto the blog next week, lovelies. xx
