Mind Of My Own

Valentine's Day is coming up and whether you have plans with your boo, your BFF or your bed... you can't slack on your 'fit! The weather has been ridiculous up in South SF and I've been keeping myself extremely busy with barely any time to even sleep, so I would most definitely opt for the last choice of snuggling into bed with some Netflix. But if I were to venture out with either of the other two, here's a look I would put together! In fact, I wore this exact skirt with a more basic black crop top for Valentine's Day last year, so it's really just an updated version of my favorite V-Day look featuring this dope mesh cut-out detail crop top from Tobi.

This crop top is great because even though it's a simple basic cut and a color that goes with almost everything, it also has that unique patterned cut-out detailing in the front that makes it a stand-out element in any outfit. I love this first shot in particular because to me it was somewhat reminiscent of a Free People vibe, and the movement and overall freedom of the look was truly visible here.

Tobi has such a great variety of crop tops and with the weather slowly warming up, you won't want to miss out on their secret social sale today! The code can be unlocked by following their social accounts on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter (all of which can be found @shoptobi). And while you're at it, peep the Valentine-themed editorials on site because they are absolutely stunning.

Shades of pink and red are what really scream Valentine-friendly, and so my particular pop of color was my favorite maxi skirt in Coral which I copped from Forever 21. Finding bottoms that fit me is especially difficult so this sheer one with an elastic waistband was a great find a while back. I also love the slit which gives me a bit more ease to move around since sometimes midis or maxis can be a bit constricting in that regard.

My second eye-catching element apart from the bold crop top was my headpiece, which I believe was also from Forever 21 a while back. It really helped to effortlessly tie the look together and still keep it feminine even with the edgy cut-out top. Since I didn't want to go too crazy with the accessories with these bold pieces in play, I decided to make use of the forever versatile flash tattoos. Subtle enough to fit any outfit and just the right amount of flashy. To finish the look off I wore my Jeffrey Campbell Litas which not only matched the nature/floral vibe going on due to the wooden heel but also paired well with the crop top. Plus the comfort of my Litas is always an added bonus!

Whether Cupid's arrow has you coupled up or spending quality time with yourself, it's always good to remember that Valentine's Day can in fact be a nice reminder instead of a bitter one! It's a reminder to always be appreciative of all the various loved ones we do have in our lives, because who knows how long you'll get to be grateful of them in all of their essence?! So go tell your fam, bae and besties that you love them. Even if Hallmark's bringing us the reminder, it's always a nice thing to keep in mind!

Thanks for checking in and see you all next week, have a safe and happy weekend my loves! xx
