All black with that vintage, no better way to style this gorgeous pullover c/o my friends over at New Jack City SF. This piece of wearable art immediately stood out to me and I loved how elegant it was in its simplicity. The silk number screams classic Tisci and this particular pattern was also brought back and re-appropriated for the Fall 2013 ready-to-wear line. Stunning and unique commodities like this are an easy find at New Jack City, and with the sweatshirt being such a statement-maker on its own I had to let it do its thing and shine on like the work of art that it is.

We shot these in my neighborhood, just a ways down the street from my humble new abode. I loved how the houses lined up perfectly with the downhill slope and of course it helped that the surrounding colors complemented the look. Everything about it reminds me of a pretty pastel painting with just the right amount of darkness, which seemed fitting since Riccardo Tisci describes himself as a very happy dark designer.

The pullover's pop of pink spoke to my inner Barbie girl and it really helped make the piece for me. With this in mind I just had to accent the pink with a bright pink lip and these amazing chic suede sling-backs from Sway, which apparently has now reinvented itself under the name Echo Clubhouse. I love how this shot shows off my Le Petit Prince tattoo as well, since the blog's name La Petite Conteur is a partial tribute to the novel.

To maintain the chic feel I wore my Choies skort underneath to add some sleek lines while still keeping the focus on the sweatshirt. I love this skort because it's so versatile and though it has now become a staple found in many a fashion blogger's closets, it always adds a surprisingly necessary element to any look and it's interesting to see how differently it can be styled per individual.

I also had a little flash tattoo on my hand with an arrow, a trend that I definitely couldn't wait to hop onto. The great thing about flash tattoos is how quick and easy they make it to accessorize your look without being too bold, plus you can customize them as you please according to your mood or outfit. For this look I wanted to highlight the sweatshirt so I kept it at a simple silver arrow. And just to touch on some slight detail I thought it would be nice to share some more of my own ink that's also tied to my love of visual expression through personal style by showing off the little hanger on the small of my neck... yes, it's that serious.

"People think darkness comes from a f-cked-up place. No. Darkness is all about serenity. It is all about being happy, all about love. Darkness means night. In the night, you sleep, you make love. Night is when you meet your family and have that sharing moment. So for me, darkness means something very beautiful."

If you haven't already, be sure to check out New Jack City and all their dope gear. And as always, thanks for checking in and see you all next week!
