In love with Tobi

Sunday, March 23, 2014

So I know I haven't really had any new posts as I promised earlier, but some stuff came up and I've been running all over SoCal and NorCal for interviews, trying to follow my dream of pursuing a career more connected to fashion.

Since I don't have any new outfit posts or hauls to share with you, I decided to put together a sort of loosely styled-together wishlist. All items were pulled from Tobi!

I've come up with this wishlist using the items from the week's newest arrivals. And by "loosely styled-together" I just mean, I've put together 10 looks using the items in my wishlist, to give you a feel of how I would personally wear and style said items. I could've gone on and on, but to spare you guys, I stuck to 10 and then at the end I list some more items I love from this week's new arrivals.

If you haven't already, be sure to check out #shoptobi's online boutique now! You can thank me later... ;]

LOOK 1:
go deep romper
happy days wedges
I absolutely love this romper! It looks cute and classic and the light blue is a nice Spring pastel that can still be worn well into summer. I like the way it's styled with the nude heels, however, I would personally pair them with the Tobi.com Happy Days wedges in coral/red. I think it adds a nice pop of bright color to the mix and that it would complement my skin tone and personal style better than the nude pumps might.

LOOK 2:

glamour kills "destroy" snapback
bright day dress
set it sandals (toast & black)
I am so in love with these items! I would rock this outfit anyday. I have a weird, timeless obsession with baseball shirts in general and this dress and I were literally meant to be. I also adore these "Set it" Sandal platforms and I think pairing it with the destroy leopard snapback would be adorable. Just enough leopard to matchy-match a bit, but not overkill. I would wear this to a game (maybe switch it up to my SF giants hat ;) first), or a casual day running errands.

LOOK 3:

By the Pier jumpsuit
Justine draped Cardigan
pretty penny platform heels
fancy festival hair clip chain
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVEEE this jumpsuit! I am not huge on jumpsuits because I feel as though my height is better suited to rompers, but I love the cut of this one as well as the different materials/textures used. I love that how even though it definitely shows skin and some sex appeal, it can still be pulled off in a classy way. I would wear this with an up-do or bun (maybe with the headchain above), and a chunky gold/red (to match the cardigan) necklace. I would then pair it with Tobi's Justine cardigan to go out to dinner, and these adorable platform heels! I love the all-black look with just a hint of color.

LOOK 4:

hazy memory sweater
one teaspoon: cobain trashed freebirds pants
set it sandals (all black)
If you haven't already caught on, I'm super obsessed with these set it sandals on tobi.com. They are absolutely flawless and I think they can be worn dressed up or casually. I'm a shorty myself, so I love the platform family of shoes in general as well - a nice, comfortable way to get some height. I think this would be a great outfit to wear on a Sunday out, or a casual/lazy day. I love the loose cut of the hazy memory sweater and how it still adds flavor to the outfit. I also love destroyed pants of any kind, and these jeans made me a definite believer of love at first sight.

LOOK 5:

darling floral romper [white]
step up platforms
This look is simple yet still makes an impact. I love the floral pattern on this romper, it's a bit different and the bold colors pop on the white. And these 'step up' platforms are another pair of booties that I simply MUST HAVE in my closet! They're my dream booties. Absolutely adore the style and everything about them, and they can definitely be quite versatile and go with a lot of outfits and different styles of dress. I would wear this outfit on a sunny day out, maybe paired with a light white cardigan of a sort if there's a breeze. Simple but cute!

LOOK 6:

Good HYOUman - "Forehead kisses are underrated." tee
Carrington shorts in Navy Floral
Carrie Booties in Taupe
I think this shirt is simple, cute and I love the oversized look and feel. I love wearing boys clothes or menswear inspired clothing. I would pair them with these comfy statement shorts and the carrie booties for a casual day out.

LOOK 7:

Be Bold bodycon dress [green]
Love Game wedges in black
I would wear this outfit to a girls night out on the town, dancing. Maybe with a chunky gold or completely black necklace, and some loose waves to match. I love the loud print of this leopard dress, and the green is a nice unique shade. These wedges also add a nice touch of detail without overdoing it, and wedges are always comfy to wear on a long night out! ;) Let's play a love game...

LOOK 8:
Watch Me crop top
Independent Woman skirt
Love both these items. I would wear this again, on a night out. I love how the skirt is already styled, but that to me seems like a more dinner setting feel rather than dancing. I would pair the skirt with the "Watch Me" crop because I love the contrast and cutout placements, as well as the names of both items. "Watch Me" and "Independent Woman"—I think it's perfectly okay for a woman to dress sexy or show some skin. Fashion to me is just a form of self-expression and in a sense, an art form. Being able to style an outfit together and to be able to make certain that all the elements of a look complement each other is truly something I both love doing, and love being able to do. And making sure an individual feels just as good as they look in the outfit is key as well, which is why sometimes it's okay and even good to show a little skin if you want. Love your body :-* for yourself! Haha. ~cheesy opinionated moment over.

LOOK 9:

Euphoric maxi dress
Set It sandals [toast]
Though I love the way this girl is pulling off the Euphoric maxi dress, I would probably add some black shorts under there personally (maybe lacey to add some detail). I would then finish the already amazing dress off with the absolutely amazing 'Set It' sandals in toast for some touch of pattern. :) I would wear this look to an event of some sort, or a dressy night out.

LOOK 10:
Under the Wire bralette
Playing Ruffle dress [coral]
Step Up platforms
I personally do like to wear some girly things—I love dresses and ruffles and lace, don't get me wrong. However, I would definitely say adding edge to girly items is one of my favorite things to do. For example, I would take this adorable ruffle dress that reminds me of the equally cute "Free People" ruffle top, and style it with this harder, detailed bralette underneath. To add to the look, I'd finish it off wiht the Step Up platform booties which complement the bralette and therefore help complete the outfit. I would wear this on a sunny day out and about with friends and loved ones :).
